G for Gold-MohanLal’s Next movie with Ranjith

Ranjith’s next film is going to be “G for Gold” and the hero will be Mohanlal. Earlier it was reported that Manju will share the screen with Mohanlal in this movie. And now the news is that Manju has been dropped from the project.

This movie will be produced under the banner of Ashirvad Cinemas by Antony Perumbavoor and shooting starts from January next year.

            

Juhi Chawla in Steven Spielberg film

After Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Irrfan Khan, Anil Kapoor, Om Puri, Tabu, Anupam Kher now its turn of Juhi Chawla to have a Hollywood connection.

Juhi Chawala,  a former Miss India,who  made debut in 1988 with the hit romantic film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak,  with debutant Aamir Khan has signed for  Steven Spielberg  film 'The Hundred Foot Journey’. Film is set to be released by August 8, 2014.

 “The Hundred Foot Journey” is based on the Richard C Morais' novel by the same name and is co-produced by Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake. The story is about Indian family trying to settle down in a small village in France, which owns an Indian restaurant right opposite a French one run by Madame Mallory played by Helen Mirren.

The Real Director or A Smart Copycat

When it comes to copying a film, nobody can beat Priyadarshan,.

He has copied pictures with perfection. Rather I would say he copied well in initial days but not now……..

Of course Priydarshan has produced some brilliant movies like "Boeing Boeing","Thalavattam","Vandanam", "Chandrelekha" for Malayalam .But its heartbreaking to hear that all these were copied from some of the famous English films. He continued his trend of copying into Hindi too .He was not successful with his first Bollywod film with Muskurahat, again remake of his own Malayalam film Kilukkam which ended up as a terrible flop.

Film like “God Father” which was a super hit in Malayalam because of the screen play, sheer brilliance of acting and director’s potential were copied frame by frame to Hindi .

The psycho thriller movie "Manichitrathazhu" written by Madhu Mattom and directed perfectly by Fazil was a golden hit only because each scene in the screenplay sustains our interest in the story. The characters played in the movie by Sunny Joseph (Mohanlal) ,Nakulan (Suresh Gopi) Ganga (Shobhana) are all unforgettable.The same movie was copied by Priyadarshan into Hindi ensuing in “Bhool Bhulaiyaa”, which  was nothing but a substandard copy of the original.

The movie was declared a hit in box office but not in minds of people who have seen Manichitrathazhu .Though he continued this for several other movies   he was not successful many times. Saat Rang Ke Sapne, remake of Thenmavin Kombathu, Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, copy of Fazil's Aniyathi Pravu were all flops.

“I never come up with an idea. Sometimes it is inspired from other films that I have seen and enjoyed watching, sometimes from the films that I have made.I never come up with an idea.I ventured into making Hindi films only to make better money than Malayalam movies. That was my sole aim.”

Would you believe this …. Legendary musician A R Rahman has got a street named after him in Markham, Ontario, Canada.This Street will be known as 'Allah-Rakha Rahman st'.

A R Rahman posted a picture in his facebook holding a board reading 'Allah-Rakha Rahman st'.The Mozart of Chennai was in Canada to attend a ceremony prearranged by the Indian International Film Festival of Toronto  (IIFFT).He has won two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards ,a Golden Globe, four National Awards and 15 Filmfare Awards till now.

Aamir Khan felicitated with US Award

Aamir Khan was felicitated with Inaugural America Abroad Media Award alongside Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow for his popular TV show “Satyamev Jayate”.

Aamir Khan who by and large doesn’t grace with his presence on award shows was too happy this time to accept award. He was accompanied by his wife and filmmaker Kiran Rao.

Satyamev Jayate Season 1 was massive success and the work for season two has already begun and is likely to be aired  on Jan 2014.This show has highlighted social issues in India and many other sensitive issues.

"My main aim is to really work in India and to sensitize people about issues and see that we can find solutions to our own issues back home. I am looking to talking to Indians," he added after receiving the award.

Balyakalasakhi Starring Mammooty & Isha Talwar

Movie adaptation of the famous novel Balyakalasakhi (romantic tragedy) written by the great Vaikom Muhammad Basheer is in movement.This novel was published in the year 1944 and is considered as one of the best works of Basheer. Story revolves around Majeed and Suhra who are in love from childhood.

Superstar Mammooty plays Majeed whereas Isha Talwar who became famed by playing the appealing Muslim Girl in Vineeth Sreenivasan's Thattathin Marayathu will play the role of Suhra in this movie. Award winning actress Seema Biswas is also a part of this film.The director of the film Pramod Payyanur announced about Balyakalasakhi on the occurrence of Mohammed Basheer's 104th birthday. #3D Version of Sholay

The 3D version of the 1975  Bollywod classic film Sholay is expected to be released by  January 2014.Earlier the 3D version was said to be released on the 71st birthday of  Amitabh Bachchan. The makers of this classic film have spent three years on the 3D Project.

"It's an old film. We don't want to rush to cinemas for a one-week window because this is not like a 'Chennai Express' or any new film which gets a big opening," said the presenter of film Gada.

Remake of the iconic film will be promoted by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra. According to the box office the initial release of the film had earned $25 million. The film will not be having any new scenes.

Ramji Rao Speaking Third Part

Third part of Ramji Rao Speaking is on the way .Like the prior films this film will also have Innocent, Saikumar and Mukesh along with some new faces. Aparna Gopinath of ‘ABCD’ and Basil is also expected to be in this film. This film will be directed by Mammas who has directed films like  ‘Pappi Appacha’ and ‘Cinema Company’

Dulquer Salmaan's debut in Tamil

 

Dulquer Salmaan is going to debut in Kollywood. Nazriya whos has already done movies like Neram, Raja Rani in Tamil will be co-star with Dulquer . Film is said to be a romantic comedy and will be will be shot and released in both Malayalam and Tamil. Kolaveri musician Anirudh will make the music for the film.

Manju Warrier is getting  snowed under with offers from everywhere. After announcing her comeback with Mohan Lal , the actress is reported to have signed her second film .She we will play the female lead in the Rosshan Andrrews` film ‘How Old Are You’ .
